BA, SOCIAL WORK / REGISTERED SOCIAL WORKER / COUNSELLOR

“Hello, and welcome. While it has not likely been an easy, comfortable journey for you, try considering your arrival at this place where you are now seeking counselling as the tipping point towards growth and change. As a Registered Social Worker, I would be honored to counsel you as you continue to move forward, and work towards your goals.

Are you interested in improving your parenting skills, or relationships with your children, partner, family or work colleagues? Would you like to change your habits and develop healthier coping strategies? Are you wanting help resolving past trauma, or addressing low self-esteem and body image issues? Maybe you are dealing with grief and loss, infertility, chronic illness or mental health issues (anxiety and depression). I specialize in the areas of parenting, relationships, mental wellness and life transitions. I offer a safe, confidential, non-judgmental space in which to explore your past, process feelings, identify goals and develop new skills so that you can experience personal growth and empowerment.

My practice is built on over 15 years’ experience in counselling and social work. Throughout my career I began to see that there’s no one thing each person needs to get “unstuck” and reach their goals. It’s only when we feel fully resourced throughout our lives—emotionally, mentally and practically—that we have the tools we need to move forward.

Drawing on my diverse background and expertise, I work collaboratively with clients to identify their unique strengths and resources, both internal and external, and to develop customized plans for achieving their goals. My therapeutic approach derives from evidence-based practices including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, Solution-Focused, and Trauma Informed Therapy.

When I am not at work, you can find me enjoying the outdoors, being a mom, savoring family and lake time, walking and playing with our high energy pup, trying a little yoga and travelling.

I look forward to speaking with you soon.

Carol works with individuals 13+ at our Corydon Avenue location.

Jewel Reimer, MSW, RSW (she/her)

MA, SOCIAL WORK / REGISTERED SOCIAL WORKER / COUNSELLOR

“We all tell stories about our lives. Sometimes these stories are themed with negative beliefs about ourselves; maybe stories we have come to believe because of traumatic experiences, maybe stories that those around us believe, and maybe the environments and contexts we live in also emphasize these problem stories. If you want to explore a more hopeful story for your life, I am here to support you in the re-telling of your life story; a beautiful story that I believe already exists within you.

Taking a first step to find a therapist requires courage. I would be pleased to introduce myself to you in an optional and free 15-minute telephone consult prior to meeting in person, so that you can decide if you would like to move forward. I am happy to meet with individuals over the age of 14, as well as, with families and couples. I use she/her pronouns and will strive to provide a place of safety for anyone struggling to live in a world that is often oppressive and unjust, particularly the 2SLGBTQQIA+ community, those experiencing weight stigma, and those living with neurodiversity or disability.

For most of my career I’ve worked in leadership positions in the non-profit social service sector providing supports for adults who were finding their way in oppressive environments of poverty, ableism, and racism. I returned to graduate school in 2020 to complete my MSW (Master of Social Work) and am now eager to apply my life learnings in a therapeutic partnership with you. My availability includes days, evenings, and some weekends.”
